Reviewing products for friends, colleagues and homesteading businesses lets me test out a few of my favorite things before recommending them to you. The beauty of the idea is, no money is traded for these reviews, so I can be completely honest and up front in my review. Doing paid endorsements is a whole ‘nuther ball game and to be honest, no one is beating my door down to give me money right now. Sharing products with you that I feel are truly the essence of entrepreneurial spirit, wholesomeness, and quality is great fun. Plus, I get the chance to see, feel, smell and test use the product!
Imagine me, someone just head over heels in love with herb gardening, getting a chance to test Coco’s Herbals. Coco’s Herbals is a new line of handcrafted herbal balms and salves, hand creams and lip balms created by Colleen Codekas. Colleen also writes for her popular blog, Grow Forage Cook Ferment. She is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. Using organic ingredients and infused oils of plantain, calendula, yarrow and comfrey, she crafts a soft balmy lotion that soothes while it calms the itch, burn or pain of skin irritations. My hands are always dry. Because the dryness is almost painful at times, I treat myself to a professional manicure every month. My nail tech friend is always telling me that my hands are too dry. My cuticles are brittle. Yes good old country living, farm chores and household cleanup will do that to you. So I tried Coco’s Herbal’s brand of hand salve. The salve smelled good! A first hurdle has been crossed. One thing that I expressly asked about, when agreeing to review the product was the aroma/fragrance of the products. I am super sensitive to fragrance, even natural ones. If any lotion is scented, it can potentially make me feel sick. I asked some other reviewers and they assured me, the fragrance was mild and not offensive at all. And you know what? They were right! Right out of the box, I opened the salve to give it a try. Now, a few days later, I can honestly say that Coco’s Herbal’s has become one of my favorite things! The light fragrance that doesn’t linger, or stick in my throat, is perfect. The salve is made from coconut oil , olive oil and bees wax and while a bit oily at first, the salve quickly is absorbed into your skin.
The same points are true of the lip balm too. I was wary of the scented names like Coconut Calendula lip balm and Orange Spice lip balm. They sound yummy at first but I can’t handle fragrance that lingers. I can assure you that I have not suffered while testing these lip balms! The lip balms are every bit as easy to use as the hand salve. I had given up trying to find a lip balm that didn’t have a taste and fragrance. Coco’s Herbals products are made from wholesome ingredients and the packaging is adorable and current The label includes all ingredients used in the product. I encourage you to visit Coco’s Herbals Page and try these for yourself. Let me know which one becomes your favorite!
Coffee is One of My Favorite Things – Farmhouse Printables
If you aren’t familiar with the next item on my favorite things list, stop over to Farmhouse Printables on Etsy as soon as possible. This business is run by a local friend of mine and really has the most fun expressions of Coffee Quotes I have seen. I take my coffee very seriously, and the mug I drink from is also important. I like a heavy mug, something I can wrap my hands around while I inhale the coffee aroma and try to wake up! I purchased my first mug last fall, and love the idea of #coffeequotes ! The expressions range from encouraging and inspirational to just plain funny. And, if you look through the dozens of mug expressions and don’t see one that is perfect for you, there is a custom mug option. These mugs are well balanced and some have the expression on both sides of the mug.
The feature that makes these mugs stand out from the competition though, is the variety of quotes. Not only is there a variety of funny, wise and Biblical quotes but you can submit your own. Many of the quotes are farm and chicken related too. “You’ve Goat to be Kidding Me” and the newest one, “God Doesn’t Give us a Barnyard we Can’t Handle”
The mugs are 11 ounce, white ceramic, but the color of the font can vary. You can work with Farmhouse Printables to design the perfect gift, novelty prize, or marketing item, too. The creativity will sell these mugs but the quality will encourage you to come back for more. Treat yourself to a new dash of morning encouragement with a mug and #coffeequote from Farmhouse Printables! These mugs from Farmhouse Printables are some of my favorite things and I think you will like them too.
